Pass the Salt Please!

I'm here to tell you if it's a good quality salt ... then YES, it's good for you. However, that doesn't mean I would advise you to start shoveling salt into your mouth. The better option is either unrefined salt, sea salt, or pink Himalayan salt. These salts are rich in minerals and free of additives. A good quality salt can also help support the body in essential ways and can be a phenomenal health promoter.
Salt & Diet
Not getting enough salt in your diet may have a negative impact on your health. It can lead to your body not producing enough hydrochloric acid in your stomach. Low stomach acid in the stomach may cause digestive issues and other health related problems. Consuming the right amount of salt in your diet can help produce proper amounts of HCL. Thus, having enough stomach acid can help the body absorb more essential vitamins and minerals from the foods you eat. When there isn't enough salt in your diet it may cause aldosterone to be synthesized in a greater amount. Aldosterone is a corticosteroid hormone that stimulates the absorption of salt by the kidneys and regulates water and salt balance in the body. Thus, aldosterone may cause salt to be lost in the urine and sweat. This may lead to a loss of other important minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and even calcium. For instance,  if you participate in endurance training a good quality salt can help enable to retain as much of the natural mineral content like sodium, magnesium, calcium, and potassium which are essential for good health. These minerals can help regulate your heartbeat by allowing your muscles to contract so you can move. Salt in moderation can help improve both endurance and performance.A loss of salt in one's diet may also result in loss of water, potentially causing dehydration and extreme thirst. Consuming and maintaining sufficient levels of sodium (salt) and potassium can help ensure proper fluid balance in the body.
